A Local’s Guide: Best Coffee Spots
There’s a certain rhythm to mornings in Palmy — and once you’re in it, it’s hard to imagine starting your day any other way.
It starts early. Salt in the air, and a quiet sense that the day is already unfolding — slowly, effortlessly, exactly as it should. Some mornings it’s a dip in the ocean. Others, a long walk. But either way, it always starts the same. With coffee.

LOAF
Open daily: 5am – 12pm
The new kid — and already the one everyone’s texting each other about.
LOAF arrived on the highway not long ago and has already made its mark. The pistachio foam alone is reason enough to go. It’s thoughtfully done without trying too hard — great coffee, effortless energy, and a space that invites you to stay a little longer.
If you haven’t been yet, this is your sign.
’94 Café
Open daily: 5:30am – 2:30pm
Cold foam matcha that’s dangerously good.
’94 arrived quietly and immediately became a destination. The fit-out is cool without trying too hard, and there’s a bit of theatre to the matcha-making that never gets old.
Their drinks lean on the sweeter side — which is exactly why people love them. The pistachio cold foam matcha is the standout: rich, indulgent, and hard to go past. And the food is a must, too — a tight, well-curated menu of toasties, açai, and house-made bakes.
Come early, grab a spot, and expect to stay longer than planned.
Jefferson Café
Open daily: Mon–Fri: 5:30am – 10:30am & Sat–Sun: 5:30am – 12pm
Tucked just back from the sand on Jefferson Lane, this is what a morning coffee is supposed to taste and feel like.
A tight, friendly operation — smashed avo on crumpet, almond croissants, a flat white pulled just right. The team behind the counter is quick, warm, and always on it.
This is the post-walk ritual. The before-the-world-wakes-up escape.
Locals have claimed it — and for good reason.
Vegepatch Studios
Open daily: 5:30am – 1pm
Part café, part creative space — a complete vibe.
Vegepatch Studios is the kind of place you stumble into and immediately want to tell everyone about. The cappuccino comes with real melted chocolate — creamy, rich, and hard to go back from.
It’s also a drop-off point for Lazarus Film Lab, adding to that community feel that makes the place what it is.
Take your time here — it’s one of those places you don’t need to rush.
Barefoot Barista
Open daily: 6am – 3pm
The OG of the strip — and still the benchmark.
Open since 2009, there’s a reason the queue keeps coming back. Go for the avocado sourdough, a chai latte, or the Turkish eggs — you can’t miss here.
The outdoor seating is ideal on a good morning — and on the Gold Coast, most mornings qualify.
Get in early on weekends. It fills up fast — and once you’re there, you’ll understand why.
This is Palm Beach at its best: unhurried, familiar, and done right.
Your morning coffee isn’t a plan — it’s a ritual.
